AUAG MetalCraft is a brand founded by metalsmith Ahn Min sik, creating high-end sterling silverware that balances artistic expression with everyday functionality. Working primarily with 92.5% sterling silver—often combined with natural materials such as ebony and rosewood—the brand produces handcrafted tableware and functional art objects shaped through traditional raising and forging techniques. Inspired by architectural structures and natural forms, Ahn’s work transforms the cool rigidity of silver into refined, tactile pieces designed to harmonize with daily life.

[Description]
<Shared Silence> is a double-structured silver tray that explores the quiet dialogue created between different metals. Three organically shaped forms are arranged as if gently leaning toward one another, establishing a balanced, nest-like composition. This spatial relationship visually expresses the concept of shared stillness, a moment of calm that is held together collectively.
The work is produced through traditional raising and forming techniques. Each piece consists of an independent copper outer shell and a 92.5% sterling silver inner shell, both hand-forged into shape. A gap of approximately 5 mm is intentionally maintained between the two layers to accentuate the differences in temperature, density, and texture between the metals. The copper exterior is finished with liver-of-sulfur patination to achieve a deep, dark brown surface, while the silver interior reflects light softly, creating a warm and composed contrast.
Through the interplay of silver and copper, interior and exterior, light and shadow, Shared Silence presents the beauty of a moment that is quiet yet shared, an experience of stillness held in relation.
